KATHLEEN MURPHY JONES is the co-founder and senior partner of Murphy Jones APC. Mrs. Jones received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the American University in Washington D.C. and has been licensed to practice nursing since 1981. She received her Juris Doctorate in 1993 from the University of San Diego School of Law and is licensed to practice law in both California and Nevada. Mrs. Jones has extensive litigation experience in medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, and medical product liability actions. She also focuses her practice on representing nurses and other healthcare professionals before the State Boards who are facing disciplinary actions or licensing issues. With 12 years of clinical nursing, primarily in Surgical I.C.U., and over 30 years of legal experience, Mrs. Jones brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to her legal practice.
Mrs. Jones’ professional achievements include serving as President of and on the Board of Directors of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, past member of the Board of Governors of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, and past member of the Board of Directors/Past-President of the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys. Her volunteer community services have included serving on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the State Bar of Nevada (present), the State Bar of Nevada Fee Dispute committee (past), the St. Rose Dominican Hospital Foundation Board (present) and Medical Ethics Board (past); and the Board of Directors for Poverello House (past), a non-profit day shelter for the homeless (present). She is an active member of the State Bars of California and Nevada, the Clark County Bar, the San Diego County Bar, The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, and the Nevada Justice Association.
